Winpars case study

Sports Betting Website for the Middle Eastern Market - Winpars

ProjectRequirement

Winpars was developed and designed by Webgen Technologies. The client wanted to create a sports betting platform complete with online casino, live casino and TOTO game for the middle eastern market. Winpars would also support multiple languages like Persian and Arabic along with English. We had to create a sportsbook platform that would parse XML data for Pre-match odds, establish a node socket channel for live odds (Json). The system would pull data from the XML feeds, calculate bets and distribute prize money.

TheChallenges
  • Maintaining the feed structure for different sports types.
  • Implementation of multiple security protocols such as IP masking, prevention of SQL injection, prevention of brute force attack, etc.
  • Implementation of socket channel for real time data transmission related to live odds.
OurSolution

We implemented a server cron which pulls the betting and odds data from these external sources and updates the databases at regular intervals with the latest odds for each match and sport. The Live odds are displayed through a live socket channel. PHP7 was used as the main server side language with Codeigniter 3 Framework and MySQL for the databases. We used Redis for caching the huge amounts of data, while Node Js along with Redis was used for the live feeds.

OurAchievement

This project helped pave our way into the sports betting industry. We had to learn on the fly and adapt ourselves to the complicated business logic and processes associated with this industry. This project tested our strengths and abilities to the greatest extent and we are happy to have delivered the project successfully.

Agent based sports betting website for the Asian Market- APEX

ProjectRequirement

Apex Sports is a sports betting website exclusively aimed at the Asian market. The website was to have no payment gateways, rather an agent based system with virtual payment option using chips. There was also to be available different currencies that could be used like the Thai Baht, Yen, Won, etc for purchasing chips and for redemption.

TheChallenges
  • The main challenge that we faced was parsing the feeds from the providers.
  • It was challenging to implement the pyramid scheme for agents and master agents.
  • Implementation of multiple security protocols such as IP masking, prevention of SQL injection, prevention of brute force attack, etc.
  • Implementation of socket channel for real time data transmission related to live odds.
OurSolution

In Apex, the server cron pulled the data from the external sources for the live feed that is updates with the latest odds at set intervals. The design was achieved with simple CSS as the client wanted a very lightweight site that would not use much data and open faster on mobile devices. We have used Laravel Framework on the server side and MySQL for the RDBMS. MongoDB was used to ensure rapid data parsing. Redis and Node Js was used for the live feeds.

This project allowed us to learn more and better understand Asian Betting lines and markets.
